Carve for the Carillon Oct. 10–11, then the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

Carve a free pumpkin at Washington Park this weekend; it could glow at the Oct. 16–17 Spectacular.

Carve for the Carillon runs 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10–11, at the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon in Washington Park. Scooped pumpkins are free while supplies last — bring your own carving tools, the Illinois Times Fall Guide lists.

The carved pumpkins go on display at the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, 6:30–9:30 p.m. Oct. 16–17. Gate tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for kids 4–11 (advance $7/$5, cash or check at Potter Drug or Keller Williams Capital). Free shuttles run from the former Ashley HomeStore Outlet at Wabash and Chatham Road, and there is a pumpkin giveaway Oct. 18.
