Growth Alliance’s McCrady: shovel-ready sites and power now drive industrial deals

Site-selection consultants are the first audience, he says — and electrical capacity matters for more than data centers.

Ryan McCrady, CEO of the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance, told WTAX’s Morning Newswatch that the group’s first goal is getting to know the site-selection consultants companies hire when they look to locate operations, Capitol City Now reports. Those consultants also tell the alliance about national and global industrial trends.

McCrady said companies have traditionally chosen locations based on being close to suppliers or customers, but lately the availability of ready-to-go sites and access to electrical infrastructure have become very important — “not just because of the data centers.”
