Illinois Wesleyan launches $200 million fundraising campaign

The “Honor the Past, Shape the Future” drive targets scholarships, faculty and campus projects.

Illinois Wesleyan University has announced a $200 million fundraising campaign, “Honor the Past, Shape the Future,” WGLT reports. Plans include $50 million for a scholarship endowment, $25 million for the unrestricted Wesleyan Fund, $30 million for endowed chairs and professorships, and $20 million for faculty research, sabbaticals and conferences.

President Sheahon Zenger called the goal ambitious but within reach. IWU raised a record $35 million last fiscal year, and it also celebrated the fulfillment of a record $25 million estate gift from Chuck and Jay Ames.
